  Gila Bend & Arlington Area

We had a great day for birding in the Gila Bend, Arlington area. There were lots of birds including 11 Roadrunners. I don't think I have ever seen that many in one day. 

Birders: Jim Consolloy, Barb Meding, Gerry Horton, Fran Baughman, Rosemary Zanter, and Donna Smith (leader). 

Here are the 57 species seen: Mallard, Ruddy Duck, Black-bellied Whistling Duck, Northern Shoveler, Pied-billed Grebe, Eared Grebe, Western Grebe, Double-crested Cormorant, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Snowy Egret, Cattle Egret, Green Heron, Black-crowned Night-Heron, Turkey Vulture, Osprey, Northern Harrier, Cooper’s Hawk, Red-tailed Hawk, American Kestrel, Prairie Falcon, American Coot, Killdeer, Black-necked Stilt, American Avocet, Greater Yellowlegs, Least Sandpiper, Long-billed Dowitcher, Bonaparte’s Gull, Rock Pigeon, Eurasian Collared-Dove, Mourning Dove, Greater Roadrunner, Burrowing Owl, Belted Kingfisher, Gila Woodpecker, Ladder-backed Woodpecker, Black Phoebe, Say’s Phoebe, Vermilion Flycatcher, Loggerhead Shrike, Common Raven, Barn Swallow, Verdin, Cactus Wren, European Starling, Orange-crowned Warbler, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Abert’s Towhee, Vesper Sparrow, Savannah Sparrow, White-crowned Sparrow, Red-winged Blackbird, Western Meadowlark, Great-tailed Grackle, House Finch and House Sparrow.
