An early start got us to Page Springs Fish Hatchery at 8am. The morning was nice and cool, but not many birds were out along the main trail. We spotted some bird activity in the large trees to the south of the Hatchery and found our flocks. Young and female Blue Grosbeaks were in large flocks foraging in the trees, it was quite a treat to see them.

On to Bubbling Springs Ponds next, where we could hardly hear the birds because of all the cicadas singing! Our treat for the day was a Bald Eagle flyover at the ponds as well as the Willow Flycatcher that took us some time to identify.

Birders: Martin Gutowski, Doris Hill, Carolyn Modeen, Marshall Esty, Rich and Carol Schooler, Dan Bohlmann, Ann McDermott, and Donna Smith, leader.
